Persepolis: Reviews & Ratings

Located in Peckham, Persepolis is a nice mix of a Persian deli and restauran. I found the place cozy with a friendly old lady and amicable staff, offering both hospitality and tradition. The decor is very simple but warm. The deli is full of Persian goods and the rooftop is informal but pleasant to the eye. The restaurant is vegetarian friendly. The portions are generous for a fixed price of £25 per person. The old lady was generous enough as to let us bring our own drink, which we appreciated. My favorite dish was the roasted butternut squash filled with a rich mix of lentils, chickpeas and nuts. Also a must try is the grilled halloumi served with freshly baked flatbread, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with sesame seeds. At £25 per person, Persepolis delivers a well priced feast for your senses. With a £15.80 service charge added, the bill was £173.80 for six people, which is reasonable given the quality, portion sizes, and unique culinary experience. Hats down for Persepolis, not just a restaurant, but a beautiful experience full of vegetarian flavors.

A Hidden Gem Full of Heart and Flavour I had the pleasure of visiting Persepolis (Takhte Jamshid) for the first time today, and it was an unforgettable experience. I already knew they had vegetarian options, but I didn’t expect to fall in love with the place the way I did. The restaurant is run by Jamshid and his wife, Sally. The love and care they pour into the restaurant is truly palpable. Sally has written several cookbooks, which are available at the restaurant, and it’s clear she has a deep passion for Middle Eastern – especially Persian – cuisine and culture. The vibe of the place is not fancy or pretentious, but warm, cosy, and almost bohemian – full of character. Books of Persian poetry, traditional musical instruments, and the aroma of home-style cooking fill the space with a truly unique atmosphere. The food was delicious, with creative and thoughtful vegetarian options. But beyond the food, it was the genuine hospitality of Sally and Jamshid that made the experience so special. They welcomed my husband and me with warmth and kindness. If you’re looking for a vegetarian-friendly restaurant with soul, culture, and a truly heartfelt experience, I can’t recommend Persepolis enough. Thank you so much, dear Sally and Jamshid, for a beautiful evening. We’ll definitely be back.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Persepolis Restaurant in Peckham, and I must say it was an amazing experience! The vegetarian food was absolutely delicious — full of rich, authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself has a fantastic, welcoming vibe, making it a truly enjoyable place to sit and relax. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, and their great behaviour made the experience even better. I also had the chance to speak with the owner and his wife, who is the talented chef behind the wonderful food. They were both so kind, warm, and passionate about what they do. The food quality was outstanding, and I highly recommend everyone to visit and try it for themselves. Without a doubt, Persepolis is the best restaurant in the Peckham area for anyone looking for a memorable meal, especially for vegetarians.
